This session will always be a memorable one for me because I nearly died in a hot air balloon the same morning. (Ok, ok, I exaggerate, but it was a pretty exciting landing.) As it sometimes happens in life, my perfectly planned morning did not go as planned, and I had to call Shannon and John and beg to delay the shoot by an hour. Fortunately, they were nothing but kind and understanding, and welcomed the extra time. Whew! With that resolved, I could focus on their awesome engagement shoot location – the Maryland Renaissance Festival grounds in the off-season! What a neat experience. It’s actually where Shannon and John met, and a big part of their lives every year (John is in a band and a show). It could not have been more perfect for these two (or me – photographer’s dream) and we all had a blast walking around and sharing some cider and snacks they came prepared with. Thanks for the opportunity, guys!

I had NO idea you could go to the grounds when the Renn Faire isn’t open! This is the coolest thing ever! It seems to suit their style so well too. What a gorgeous session! You captured them so well.
Hi Brea. Thanks for the kind words. The festival actually has a very strict no trespassing policy. We got special permission for our shoot. If you’re interested in doing something similar, I’d suggest calling the festival office.
Awesome, thanks Emily! 🙂
How fun that you got to use the grounds! I love all the spots you chose and totally love Shannon’s two outfits! And I’m glad you didn’t die in the hot air balloon 😉
Perfect location for a perfectly matched couple! Both of you look so happy and in love! ❤️❤️❤️
This is SO COOL, Emily!! What an awesome engagement session!!!
