Somehow it happened that I never met Melissa and Brian in person before the wedding, but I showed up and they were so nice and accommodating and easy to get along with, I knew I was in for a fun day! And a memorable one. Their wedding day was the first day of all the protesting and riots in Baltimore, and although it didn’t directly affect the wedding itself, it certainly impacted our traffic patterns and the general atmosphere of the city. And then there were the other memorable things that happened on their wedding day, like the hook for the bustle completely disappearing from Melissa’s dress, and Melissa putting Brian’s ring on his right hand instead of his left, and finally, hiking directly up Federal Hill with the entire bridal party because the bus driver didn’t want to drive around. Anyway, I know they will look back on it all and laugh because at the end of the day, they are married and it was truly awesome! And as the band guy said at the reception, it is clear how much Melissa really loves Brian because she’s giving up the coolest last name on the planet. (It’s Rocks. And I tend to agree.) 🙂
